Dr. Matthew Stahl, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) by The Ferkauf School of Psychology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree (M.S.) in School Psychology, from the same institution. Matt has over a decade of experience in behavioral and mental health treatment. He served patients in long-term, inpatient psychiatric units, where he conducted psychological assessments and therapy. Matt provided treatment to clients presenting problems ranging from ADHD to substance abuse to ASD at an outpatient clinic at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He has worked with trauma victims as part of the forensic team for the New Jersey State Police Sexual Assault Unit. Additionally, Matt was the first doctoral intern to be invited to join the Boston Public School’s Behavioral Health Department, where he provided psychological assessments, therapy, and parent support, as well as conducted research on the efficacy of social-emotional learning programs being used by the school system. He has received multiple grants and awards for the clinical work he completed during his doctoral training. Matt uses a motivational client-centered approach. In his work with Intent Clinical, he emphasizes the creation of goals collaboratively, with the client’s own voice guiding the interventions and activities they will implement together. Prior to entering the mental/behavioral health field, Matt worked for ten years in entertainment. He produced programs for CBS and MTV. He plays the drums and enjoys boxing and meditation.
