Margaret Carey, DSW, CSW, is the Senior Behavioral Health Navigation Specialist at Intent Clinical, and a Certified Social Worker with a Doctorate in Social Work. She brings deep expertise in healthcare social work, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health. At Intent Clinical, Margaret delivers compassionate, systems-aware support to individuals and families navigating acute crises and complex care needs.
Margaret has spent much of her career in emergency medicine, providing direct support to individuals facing urgent medical and mental health challenges. Her practice is grounded in ethical decision-making, health equity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is particularly skilled at navigating high-intensity healthcare environments and advocating for person-centered care.
In addition to her clinical work, Margaret has contributed to social work education as a faculty member at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, where she taught courses in clinical practice and cultural competence. Her doctoral research focused on healthcare access and equity, further reinforcing her commitment to reducing disparities and improving systems of care.
