Keane’s academic career started at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work. She then pursued her Master’s degree in Education at the University of Toronto–Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).
Keane began her professional career in child welfare, where she occupied several roles: Family Service Worker, Senior Social Service Documentation Worker, and Intake Worker. She also worked as a Counselor for a parent helpline. When she relocated to Florida, she began working within the educational system as a behavioral health case manager, as well as in the medical field as a Communication Specialist for involuntarily hospitalized patients, and on a mobile team as a Crisis Interventionist. In all her roles, Keane has supported children, youth, adults, families, individuals, and various community stakeholders, helping them navigate the educational, medical, and behavioral health sectors.
In her leisure time, Keane enjoys spending time with her family, indulging in massages, listening and dancing to various types of music, and watching international movies. She also volunteers with Read for the Record, an initiative supporting children’s early literacy and social-emotional development.
