This week on Collegial Conversations, Diana is joined by Dr. Aaron H. Fink, a respected psychiatrist specializing in children, adolescents, and sports. Based in Houston, Dr. Fink is known for his work with the Council of Recovery and their Center for Co-Occurring Disorders. Not only is Dr. Fink a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine and McGovern Medical School, but he’s also a passionate advocate for the biopsychosocial model of psychiatry. In this episode, he and Diana explore how this model considers the biological, psychological, and social aspects that form who we are as individuals.
BIO
Aaron H. Fink, MD, is a child, adolescent, and sports psychiatrist in private practice for the last 36 years in Houston. He is on the Advisory Board of the Council of Recovery and is also a Founding Advisory Board member of their Center for Co-Occurring Disorders.
Dr. Fink is the past President of the Houston Group Psychotherapy Society and currently chairs their Community Outreach Committee. He is also the past President of the Houston Psychiatric Society.
Dr. Fink is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, as well as at McGovern Medical School. At Baylor, he coordinates the group therapy program and leads one of the residency training groups.
Dr. Fink received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied childhood development and early childhood education. He obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. At Baylor, he also did his residency in general psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
