In this week’s Collegial Conversations, Diana’s guest is Cali Werner, an anxiety clinician specializing in anxiety and OCD in sport. As an undergraduate from Rice University, Cali competed as a Division I collegiate distance runner, winning nine conference titles and an Honorable Mention All-American in the 10k while battling OCD. Her most recent athletic success was competing in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon. Cali’s personal experience with anxiety led her to dedicate her career to helping others through evidence-based care. Cali is currently obtaining a Ph.D. in clinical social work at Baylor University and is focusing on anxiety in athletes while also maintaining a private practice, Athlete Rising, LLC. Today, Cali and Diana talk about obsessive-compulsive disorder, perfectionism, and athletes.

BIO

Cali Werner, LCSW, is an anxiety clinician specializing in anxiety and OCD in sport. Cali’s personal experience with anxiety led her to dedicate her career to helping others through evidence-based care. Cali is currently obtaining a Ph.D. in clinical social work with a focus on anxiety in athletes at Baylor University while also maintaining a private practice, Athlete Rising, LLC. She is dedicated to raising awareness on behalf of those with mental illness through education while providing treatment, resources, and hope.
